Caring with Courage
BEN Initiative Director, Mary Ben, is featured in "Caring with Courage: Navajo Doulas Improving Birth Experiences in New Mexico", alongside of the Navajo Birthworker Collective, a WKKF funded project highlighting the critical role Indigenous doulas play in revitalizing and sustaining Indigenous knowledge of birthwork.
On the Food Sovereignty Path
BEN Initiative Director, Mary Ben, completed her doctoral degree in 2023. On the Food Sovereignty Path, her doctoral dissertation, lays a landscape for overcoming unique challenges of farming on Federal Trust Land, identifies best practices of farmer incubator programs, and conducts a Social Return on Investment Analysis.
